Born in Machghara, Lebanon.
Passed away peacefully in Ottawa on Monday, June 24, 2024 at the age of 89.
Son of the late Amin El-Cheikh and Aziza Merhi.
Beloved husband of  Hala El-Cheikh.
Loving father of Mohamed (Moodie) Cheikh (Sheri Bailey), Abraham (Brian)  Cheikh (late Manjola) and  Angel Cheikh.
Cherished grandfather of Mason Cheikh, Layla Cheikh,  Zachary Cheikh and Grace Amina St. Arnaud; step-grandfather of  Aiden and Crystal.
Dear brother of Abdallah, Fatmeh, Mariam’ predeceased by Mohammed, Hasan, Kamel , Nourdine, Ibrahim, Naim, Zeinab, Fawzieh, Ramzieh and Razia .
He will be missed by Cheikh, Mahmoud, Ismail, Mehdi, Merhi and Saleh families.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from  5:00 to 8:00 pm  at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club.
Interment on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 2:30 pm at  Ottawa Muslim Cemetery in Manotick – 1668 Manotick Station Road.
